About The Event

In honor of Black History Month, join us for a soul-warming concert of African American spirituals and hymns performed passionately by soprano Sonya Headlam, accompanied by the Presbyterian Church in Morristown's own Director of Music, Matthew Webb.

Described as having a voice of "liquid tone," Ms. Headlam recently performed at Carnegie Hall with pianists Min Kwon and Warren Jones in a program highlighting American composers Bernstein, Barber, and Copland, and was a featured soloist with One Voice Chorus in North Carolina. Born of Jamaican heritage, she holds close ties to the Caribbean, where she remains active as a recitalist and vocalist.
