Spring brings the exciting Harlem Quartet, a Grammy-winning ensemble that has collaborated with jazz legend Chick Corea and violinist Itzhak Perlman. Comprised of violinists Ilmar Gavilan and Melissa White, violist Jaime Amador, and cellist Felix Umansky, and joined by Steinway Artist and CME Director Min Kwon, they will perform the beautiful Schumann Piano Quintet in E flat Major, Op. 44. This performance will also feature two talented doctoral students at Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts: Lucy Lee, viola, and Patrick Hopkins, cello, performing Tchaikovsky’s enchanting “Souvenir de Florence.”
